Course overview

To stay ahead of the competition, it is important for an organisation to minimise the time it takes to deliver business change effectively. By adopting agile development approaches, project teams can become more responsive to customer expectations and deliver business value early.

This course looks at the role of the Business Analyst in an agile context. It has been created by the Agile Business Consortium (formerly DSDM) in conjunction with APMG and aims to provide a recognisable qualification for the business analysis community.

You will gain a practical understanding of the difference between agile business analysis and traditional business analysis, including a detailed definition of an agile business case and how this differs from a traditional business case. 

Course objectives

This course aims to provide Business Analysts with the valuable skills needed to successfully gather, analyse, validate and champion the requirements throughout an agile project. On completion of this accredited course, you will become a certified Agile Business Analyst.

This course in Agile Business Analysis will enable delegates to:

Is this an accredited course?

Yes. This course is accredited by the APMG and was created in partnership with the DSDM Consortium, who are now known as the Agile Business Consortium. 


You will take the AgileBA Foundation exam on the third day, and the AgileBA Practitioner exam on the fourth day.

Exam structure:

The AgileBA Foundation exam is a 40-minute multiple-choice paper. 
The AgileBA Practitioner exam is a 2.5-hour complex multiple-choice paper.

There are no pre-requisites for the course.

What about certification?

Upon successful completion of both exams, candidates are awarded both an APMG Foundation Certificate in Agile Business Analysis (AgileBA) and an APMG Practitioner Certificate in Agile Business Analysis (AgileBA).

Is there any pre-course reading?

Pre-course reading is beneficial but not essential.
